Thousands of worshippers rush to follow the start the parade of the Chinese Matsu, god of the sea, at the Dajia Matsu Cheng Lan Temple, early Sunday morning, April 10, 2005, in Dajia, on the central east coast of Taiwan. Said to watch over fisherman and sailors, Matsu sets off on an eight-day pilgrimage from the Chen lan Temple, with a parade of over 100,0000 well-wishers, floats and shooting fireworks. Matsu and a throng of followers will travel some 280 kilometers (174 miles) to sister Matsu temples throughout Taiwan's south before returning to Dajia. (AP Photo/Wally Santana)
